DVP

The verification plan where the traceability chain closes.

DVP

What it's for

The evidence layer — the plan you hand a verification engineer to run. The grid shows Test ID, Title, Stage, Status and Result; each test opens a slide-in detail panel with nine sections (identification, purpose & standards, setup, procedure, measurement & acceptance, linkages, schedule, execution & result, approvers) and carries requirement chips and DFMEA-risk chips that link back to their source.

When to use it

Once requirements (and ideally a DFMEA) exist — this is the verification evidence.

How it works

  1. Derive a DVP — pick requirements and/or a DFMEA as sources. → The tool blends both: tests cover requirements by method and risks by mitigation, each row carrying Linked-requirement and Linked-DFMEA-risk chips back to its source.
  2. Click a test row to open its detail panel. → A slide-in “Test N of M” panel opens with nine collapsible sections — edit fields, add linked-requirement / DFMEA-risk chips, and fill structured tables for initial conditions, equipment and acceptance thresholds.
  3. Set each test’s Stage, Method, Status and Result. → Stage (Prototype / EVT / DVT / PVT / MP) and Method (Test / Analysis / Inspection / Demonstration) are selects; Status (Planned / In Progress / Done) and Result (Pass / Fail / Conditional / N/A) render as coloured badges.
  4. Fill the Approvers section (Engineering / Quality / Safety). → Those names are pulled into the Review Workflow as the suggested reviewer list when you send the DVP for review.
  5. Search, then Export. → Search by Test ID / title / description; export to PDF, stamped PDF (evidence), CSV, TXT or JSON.

Mechanics

  • Grid (Test ID · Title · Stage · Status · Result) + 9-section detail panel (~22 fields)
  • Linked-requirement + linked-DFMEA-risk chips per test
  • Multi-source derivation (Requirements + DFMEA at once)
  • Structured sub-tables: initial conditions · equipment · acceptance thresholds
  • Approvers feed the review reviewer list · grounding-honesty notice
  • Follow-on edit · merge · revisions · review
